Singaporeans warned after cars allegedly broken into at Desaru waterpark

KOTA TINGGI: Singaporean vehicle owners visiting Desaru's Desaru Coast Waterpark were warned to remain vigilant after three vehicles with Singapore plates were allegedly broken into at the park's carpark on September 6. The incident was reported on social media by user Syafiq Maselan, who claimed to have seen the vehicles with their side or rear windows smashed.

Syafiq noted that his vehicle remained unharmed despite his children's electronic devices being visible on the back seat, attributing his luck to the incident. The alleged perpetrators targeted bags left inside the vehicles, according to Syafiq's post.

Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast responded by enhancing security measures, including increased security presence, mobile patrols at high-traffic areas, and coordination with law enforcement. They also reminded visitors to keep their vehicles locked and valuables out of sight, offering large lockers for rent to secure belongings.

Police confirmed that three Singaporean residents had filed police reports regarding the break-in, and investigations were underway to determine the suspects' whereabouts. Authorities urged hotel security teams to strengthen measures, such as deploying more personnel to monitor vehicle parking areas and conducting checks on suspicious individuals and vehicles in tourist hotspots.
