Singapore businesses to get easier access to government support through AI-powered BizSG portal

The Singaporean government is introducing a streamlined portal to simplify the process for businesses to access grants and services. Dubbed BizSG or BusinessSG, the initiative aims to provide a single point of access to various government support schemes. The portal's AI-powered grant recommender will tailor support based on a company's specific needs and growth plans.

Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling announced the portal's launch on September 30, emphasizing its potential to save businesses time and energy by consolidating multiple interactions with government agencies into one digital platform. The initiative follows a survey showing that 77% of SMEs have already adopted AI, with the government determined to help businesses leverage this technology further.

Over the next year, SME Centres will organize workshops focused on AI capabilities such as AI agents and agentic workflows. The BizSG portal will initially feature the EDGE scheme, which combines multiple existing grants into one, covering activities from improving business efficiency to expanding into new markets and enhancing digitalisation.
