In Hong Kong, martial arts legend Sammo Hung was recently photographed shopping at a supermarket in mainland China. The 74-year-old actor was seen browsing the drinks section in a motorized wheelchair. A passerby reported that Hung appeared unaccompanied and down-to-earth when approached. Despite his reliance on a wheelchair, fans were reassured by his good spirits, dispelling any concerns about his health.

Hung has previously mentioned that going to the supermarket solo provides him with a form of entertainment. He has been using a wheelchair and walking stick since undergoing knee surgery in 2017. While he relies on assistance for mobility, his wife, former actress Joyce Godenzi, has played a crucial role in his recovery. She reportedly monitors his diet, urging him to reduce his carb intake.

Hung himself admitted to struggling with food, stating in a past interview, "My wife doesn't allow me to eat much. I must cut down on the carbs." His deteriorating eyesight has also affected his ability to read scripts, adding an additional challenge to his acting career.
