Raphinha Scores Twice as Barcelona Crush Feyenoord 5-1 in Champions League

Barcelona launched their 2026/27 Champions League campaign with a resounding 5-1 victory over Dutch side Feyenoord in their opening matchday at the Camp Nou stadium. Brazilian forward Raphinha scored twice, while Karim Adeyemi, Lamine Yamal, and Gabriel Jesus also found the back of the net for the Catalan giants. Sem Steijn was the only scorer for Feyenoord, who were managed by former Barcelona player Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Raphinha opened the scoring just three minutes into the match after Lamine Yamal's long cross to him in the penalty area. The Brazilian forward then evaded two Feyenoord defenders with a feint before scoring a clinical finish past Tjark Ernst. Barcelona doubled their lead in the 22nd minute as Adeyemi fired a powerful shot from outside the box that dipped sharply into the goal.

Barcelona maintained their 2-0 lead until halftime, dominating the game with an impressive 74% possession, 12 shots to Feyenoord's three, and 400 passes to Feyenoord's 117. Feyenoord managed a brief threat in the 57th minute when Nacho Ferri broke through the Barcelona defense, but the attempt was unsuccessful. However, Feyenoord tried to equalize through Ferri again, only for the goal to be disallowed following a VAR check confirming an offside position.

Barcelona continued to press, extending their lead in the 78th minute as Yamal struck the free-kick with power and precision, clearing the Feyenoord defensive wall and finding the back of Ernst's net. Feyenoord managed to score a consolation goal in the 82nd minute, with Goncalo Borges providing a low cross that Steijn finished off.

However, Barcelona managed to add one more, with Gabriel Jesus, who came on as a substitute, heading in a cross from Yamal in the 85th minute. The Catalan side's 5-1 victory marked the third time in their opening five matches of the season that they managed to score five goals, totaling 22 goals across their first five games.
