Qatar rejects prolonged regional uncertainty

Doha, Qatar: Qatar's media chief has firmly rejected the idea of a prolonged regional stalemate, warning of its harmful consequences for economies, stability, and peoples. Speaking at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' (MoFA) weekly media briefing, the director emphasized the urgent need for diplomatic solutions to quell the crisis.

The State of Qatar is actively collaborating with regional and international allies to restore diplomacy and dialogue, according to Ibrahim bin Sultan Al Hashmi. The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical international waterway, is a top priority for Qatar and the region, given its significance for global trade, energy supplies, and economies.

Al Hashmi stressed that any mediation efforts must be driven by political will among the involved parties. He highlighted ongoing cooperation between Qatar and China, particularly during Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani's recent visit to Beijing.

The media director denounced Israeli claims that label Qatar as a "hostile state," arguing that Israel's own actions, such as its "genocide" in Palestinian territories, refute such assertions. Qatar has been targeted by smear campaigns, but Al Hashmi affirmed that these efforts have been debunked by facts and evidence demonstrating Qatar's responsibility and adherence to international law.

The country continues to mediate and advocate for peaceful solutions, aiming to create an environment conducive to dialogue and sustainable resolutions.
