PDP Inaugurates 2027 Campaign in Abia

Yesterday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State inaugurated its management team for the 2027 governorship election. The Campaign Council Management Team, headed by former Nigerian Ambassador to Argentina, Empire Kanu, was inaugurated by its Secretary, Ukpai Ukairo, at the party's flag bearer, Dr. Kelechi Anosike's campaign office on Aba Road, Umuahia. The inauguration signified a grassroots-driven and issue-based campaign to "reclaim the soul and future of Abia State."

Kanu declared that Abia remains a PDP state and that the Labour Party administration is merely holding power temporarily. He emphasized that Abia State is PDP and that the party is not a new party. Kanu commended Anosike for assembling a well-organized campaign structure within weeks, predicting that under his leadership, Abia State will move to a different level.

The campaign council chairman urged members to focus their efforts at the ward level, as this is where they can make the most significant impact. He stated that once every ward in the state is delivered to the PDP, the party has won. Kanu further argued that the current state government and its party are on shaky ground without a strong party structure, making governance difficult.

Dr. Anosike, the PDP governorship candidate, declared that the inauguration marked the beginning of a movement centered on welfare and service. He aimed to end deceit and fraud in the state, stating that this is not just the inauguration of the campaign council but the commencement of a movement. Anosike emphasized a "People First, Abia Always" approach, promising to deliver more than enough food to eat for the masses, create job opportunities, and establish at least three industries within a year if elected.

The Director General of the Campaign Council, Chief Nwachukwu, pledged total commitment from the team, assuring that they will be intentional in their efforts. The Abia State PDP chairman and deputy governorship candidate, Elder Amah, was also present at the inauguration, receiving the PDP flags.
