Ortom weaponizing insecurity, Gov Alia not sleeping – Benue Govt

The Benue State government, led by Governor Hyacinth Alia, has accused former governor Samuel Ortom and others of weaponizing insecurity in the region. Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, Alia’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, accused Ortom and others of politicizing the issue of security in the state. Kula emphasized that Governor Alia is not sleeping on the matter and is committed to reducing insecurity to the barest minimum.

Kula stressed that insecurity is not unique to Benue State, but it is happening in other states as well, and there is no justification for citizens to remain comfortable with the ongoing crisis. He added that what is happening in Benue State is not peculiar to the state and there is no excuse to remain complacent. Kula further alleged that Ortom and others are playing politics with the security situation in the state, specifically accusing him of weaponizing insecurity.
