Marex names global head of capital introduction

Marex has named Allison DiClemente as its global head of capital introduction, leading a 13-person team dedicated to connecting hedge fund managers with institutional investors worldwide. Based in New York, DiClemente joined Marex Prime Services in May 2024 after a two-decade career in financial services, including 15 years at Barclays Corporate & Investment Bank.

Her role at Marex involves expanding the firm's capital-introduction business, which primarily targets emerging hedge fund managers aiming to establish relationships with institutional investors. DiClemente's new position will oversee operations in the Americas, UK, Middle East, and Asia as Marex seeks to broaden its global presence in prime services.

Marex's capital-introduction platform is tailored to cater to the needs of newer hedge funds, with a specialized network of allocators focusing on investors actively seeking opportunities in this area. Currently, the firm connects approximately 2,100 institutional investors, investment advisers, and family offices globally, employing professionals in key locations such as New York, San Francisco, Dallas, São Paulo, London, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Singapore.

DiClemente's appointment is timely, as hedge fund managers face intense competition for institutional allocations in a saturated alternatives market, where access to allocators can significantly impact a manager's ability to scale assets. Marex has been positioning its prime services as a comprehensive relationship with hedge fund clients, with capital introduction serving as an essential tool to support managers in their fundraising and retention efforts.
