'Judaise medicine': Palestinian doctors are under attack in Israel

Palestinian doctors in Israel are facing increasing scrutiny and hostility from Israeli politicians and the public, despite making up a quarter of the country's medical workforce. The attacks have been fueled by media campaigns and social media posts, often sparked by incidents involving soldiers or patients. Yehoshua Shani, a figure opposed to the Gaza ceasefire, claimed a patient at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa was mistreated by Arabic-speaking nurses, despite the hospital refuting the claim.

This led to heated debates about whether Arabic should be spoken in Jewish hospitals. Knesset members have also played on the Hebrew term for affirmative action, claiming it is "damaging discrimination." Lawyers and other medical professionals have called for the removal of Palestinian doctors from the healthcare system, aiming to "Judaize" the profession.

Despite facing these challenges, Palestinian doctors remain committed to continuing their work in Arabic, seeing no reason to justify their language or background.
