Jozef Van Wissem & Jim Jarmusch Announce New Double Album Bocca di Lupo/Mouth Of The Wolf: Hear “Never Like You Said” (Feat. Courtney Barnett)

Dutch composer Jozef Van Wissem and renowned filmmaker Jim Jarmusch have unveiled their latest joint album venture, Bocca di Lupo and Mouth Of The Wolf, set to release together this fall. The lead single, "Never Like You Said," featuring Courtney Barnett, is available now. The duo recorded the two LPs in July 2025 in Bologna, Italy, at the Fonoprint Studios situated on Via Bocca di Lupo, which inspired the album titles.

The project was made possible through the collaboration of Gian Luca Farinelli and Rosanna Mordini of Cineteca di Bologna. Wissem and Jarmusch express gratitude to the Cineteca di Bologna for enabling the recording sessions in the historic location. The first album, Bocca di Lupo, begins with a new rendition of their song "Only Lovers Left Alive" and includes "Apology," a reimagining of a piece originally by Van Wissem.

The remaining tracks are entirely new compositions. Courtney Barnett contributed her vocals to the track "Never Like You Said," which was spontaneously written during a single studio take as an emotional response to dealing with insincere people. The second album, Mouth Of The Wolf, features two extended darkly enthralling instrumental tracks, "In A" and "Massa Damnata," both derived from their live performances.

The album also includes a poem titled "Black Roses" recited within its musical context. The second album is presented separately, with its own artwork. Both albums are set to drop on November 6 via Sacred Bones.
