John Boadu campaign welcomes Wontumi’s endorsement

The campaign of prospective New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, John Boadu, has expressed gratitude for the endorsement received from Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also recognized as Chairman Wontumi. This acknowledgment was shared in a statement released on September 9, 2026. The campaign team acknowledged the decision, following what they termed as detailed deliberations, and described the support as more than a gesture of backing, as it indicated faith in Boadu’s leadership abilities.

They conveyed their humility and appreciation for the gesture, emphasizing their responsibility in utilizing this endorsement constructively. Boadu’s team expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Wontumi’s team and other NPP members, emphasizing their collective aim to restore unity within the party and fortify its structures.

Their overarching objective is to prepare the NPP for future electoral triumphs, specifically targeting the 2029 general election. The campaign reaffirmed its dedication to working alongside the NPP presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in achieving this electoral ambition. Regarding Chairman Wontumi's legal predicament, the campaign assured him that the party would not overlook his past contributions.

They promised to support him through the ongoing appeal and strive for his earliest possible release, while upholding the principles of law and due process. The campaign also commended Wontumi's team for prioritizing the unity and collective welfare of the NPP over personal interests.
