Israel to take retaliatory steps against France after imposition of settlement sanctions - report

Israel is reportedly preparing to retaliate against France and other nations that have imposed sanctions on its settlement activities, according to a report by KAN News on Tuesday night. This comes just a day after Foreign Minister Gideon Sa ar announced measures against the United Kingdom, which include the removal of personnel from the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat and the closure of the British Consulate in Jerusalem, expected in the coming weeks.

A British official expressed regret over Israel's response to the sanctions, stating that British ministers considered it a moral and security issue that could not be ignored. However, the official added that the move was not meant as an attack on Israel, but rather a "response to extremists and violence." Furthermore, KAN cited the official stating that the UK had sent representatives to the CMCC at the US's request, with the intention of advancing US President Donald Trump's initiative, which the official deemed to be unproductive.
