iPhone Duo: Here are all the little details you might have missed

Apple has unveiled a new foldable smartphone called iPhone Duo, a model that may have caught your attention if you're considering upgrading your iPhone. The iPhone Duo, set to become available for order next month, is the company's first foldable device. As you weigh your options, it's worth knowing the finer details of this unique device.

Among its main features, the iPhone Duo is, as the name suggests, foldable. It boasts two displays, top-notch camera capabilities, and impressive battery life. Plus, its unique form factor offers certain advantages.

However, there are some smaller details worth noting. The iPhone Duo comes equipped with a Camera Control button, but it lacks the Action button that has been a feature on other iPhone models for several years. Additionally, while the phone sports a nano-texture finish on its folding display, this texture is not present on the outer screen.

Another point of interest is the compatibility of the iPhone Duo with Apple Pencil. Apple has confirmed that support for the pencil will be available on both the inner and folding displays later this year, but currently, only the USB-C Pencil model is supported, not the Apple Pencil Pro.

Unlike the iPhone 18 Pro, which is hitting stores later this week, the iPhone Duo won't be available for pre-order until October 16. Buyers will receive their device a week later, on October 23. Despite the delayed availability, Apple assures that the new model will come with iOS 27.1 upon release.

An important note for international buyers: the iPhone Duo will not be available with a physical SIM card anywhere in the world. Even in China, where physical SIMs are commonly used, the iPhone Duo will be an eSIM-only device.
