Android Studio now offers improved wireless debugging with the new Android Debug Bridge (ADB) Wi-Fi 2.0 feature. This update, brought to you by Steven Jenkins, Sherif Eid, and Fabien Sanglard, aims to enhance reliability, speed, and ease of setup. The new server stack, mDNS, ensures wireless devices remain connected more reliably despite network changes or devices being turned off.
Additionally, the adbd daemon automatically disables ADB Wi-Fi when connected to an untrusted network and re-enables it once on a user-approved network. Discoverability in Android Studio has also been improved, enabling easy pairing and automatic connection success rates that have improved by 32%, with connection speeds increasing by 66% for 90% of connections.
