Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, family members figure in Karnataka SIR discrepancy list

The family of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani has been included in the discrepancy list released by India's Election Commission for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka. Nilekani, 71, his wife Rohini, 67, and their children Janhvi, 38, and Nihar, 36, are set to receive notices during the upcoming document verification phase.

Classified as "Unmapped with last SIR," this designation applies to those absent from the 2002 electoral rolls. The family members are listed in the draft electoral roll for the BTM Layout constituency and are registered voters at Reddy Janasangha High School in Third Block, Koramangala. To be added to the final electoral roll, which is expected on October 27, they must provide one of the 11 documents approved by the ECI.

Former Union minister Ananth Kumar lost to Nilekani in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections by 2.28 lakh votes. Other notable figures, such as Bharat Ratna recipient Prof CNR Rao and Padma Shri recipient Harekala Hajabba, also appear on the list, with Rao's name flagged for a 2002 electoral roll discrepancy and Hajabba facing a name mismatch.
