India big favourites in Women’s Asia Cup semis; Bangladesh have nothing to lose

Pakistan women's cricket team generated buzz on social media during the Women’s Asia Cup, not due to their performance but because several members were seen wearing sneakers from one8, a sportswear brand co-founded by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli. The match was against Hong Kong at the Dubai International Stadium. Eymaan Fatima and Nashra Sandhu, among others, were spotted wearing the One8 Cover Drive 18 X cricket shoes in three color options: Trophy Gold, Sonic Blue, and Jersey White.

The craze for the shoes on social media led fans to speculate that some had been stolen from the team's kit bag. Sandhu, who delivered a career-best performance of 6/7 in four overs, helped Pakistan dismiss Hong Kong for just 71 runs, clinching a 72-run victory. This win also secured Pakistan's spot in the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup.

One8 has since grown beyond its association with Kohli to become a sportswear brand offering footwear, apparel, and other sporting products, with Kohli being an investor in the company through his stake in Agilitas.
