How to Check WiFi Password on Laptop

When you cannot recall your Wi-Fi password, inspecting it on a laptop that has previously linked to the network proves valuable. Connecting a phone, another computer, or an additional device to the same network becomes feasible once you locate the password. On Windows 11, navigate to Settings, then Network & internet, followed by Wi-Fi.

Choose the Wi-Fi network currently connected to and click Show to reveal the saved password. Windows will display the previously saved password. For networks encountered before, even if you are not currently linked, go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks. Pick the desired network and click Show adjacent to the Wi-Fi network password.

On Windows 10, open Control Panel and select Network and Sharing Center. Click the Wi-Fi connection under Connections, then opt for Wireless Properties. Navigate to the Security tab and check the box labeled Show characters. The Wi-Fi password will be displayed in the Network security key box. With the password accessed, enter it on your phone, tablet, smart TV, or another laptop.

Ensure the password is entered exactly as shown, as Wi-Fi passwords are case-sensitive. If the password isn't stored on your laptop, consult the router's label or its administration settings, or reach out to the network's manager or internet service provider.
