How to apply for FG’s free solar installation training

The Federal Government, in partnership with Siemens Energy and Germany's GIZ, has launched applications for a free Solar Photovoltaic Installation Training program. This initiative, part of the Siemens Energy Education and Development (SEED) project, is being supported by the Nigerian Energy Support Programme, a joint technical assistance program funded by the EU and Germany through GIZ.

Applicants can expect a comprehensive program that includes theory, hands-on practice, site visits, and competency assessments. Upon successful completion, participants will receive COREN certification.

The training is accessible to both experienced professionals and those without formal education or prior experience. It welcomes recent graduates with National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or undergraduate qualifications, as well as young professionals in the renewable energy sector and individuals passionate about this field. However, all applicants must be able to attend the three-week in-person training starting in September 2026.

To apply, interested candidates must fill out an online Expression of Interest form before 4 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026. Required information includes full name, gender, phone number, email address, preferred training location, and details about educational and professional background. Applicants are required to upload their most recent CV and any relevant degree certificates or qualifications.

The training will take place in Lagos and Abeokuta, Ogun State, with each stream lasting three weeks onsite.
