Harga RON97, RON95 dan diesel tanpa subsidi naik 25 sen

Starting September 16, the prices of unleaded petrol RON97, RON95 without subsidy, and diesel without subsidy will increase by 25 sen per liter. As of September 16, the price of RON97 is set at RM4.50 per liter, the price of RON95 without subsidy is RM4.02 per liter, and the price of diesel without subsidy is RM4.92 per liter. The Ministry of Finance (MoF) stated that global crude oil prices have surged sharply during the calculation period due to the renewed conflict between the United States and Iran and increased risk of disruptions to petroleum supply through the Strait of Hormuz.

Brent crude oil prices have risen throughout the APM calculation time before reaching USD97.31 per barrel on Monday. Geopolitical risk premiums for global oil supply have also increased following ongoing retaliatory attacks between the US and Iran, the ministry said. Meanwhile, the global petroleum derivatives market remained tight, it added.

Supply disruptions at Western Asia refineries and continued attacks on Russian refineries have reduced global gasoline, diesel, and other petroleum products supplies. The APM calculated prices of diesel in international markets have also risen more rapidly than crude oil prices, due to supply bottlenecks and declining inventories.

The MoF said the flow of petroleum through the Strait of Hormuz and global refining capacity has yet to return to normal, 193 days after the conflict in Asia. If this continues, deteriorating inventories and tight global petroleum supplies could raise geopolitical risk premiums for global petrol and diesel prices. Despite the increase, the price of refined petroleum products will remain stable to protect the public and businesses from the impact of global uncertainty.

The RON95 subsidized price will stay at RM1.99 per liter, while diesel subsidized prices will stay at RM2.10 per liter under the BUDI program. The subsidized price of petrol under the SKPS program will remain at RM2.05 per liter, and diesel subsidized prices under the SKDS program will stay at RM2.15 per liter.
