Fire destroys popular pork rice bowl shop in Rayong

Rayong — On the early morning of September 9, 2026, a devastating fire engulfed a popular pork rice bowl restaurant located on Tha Bap Road in Noen Phra subdistrict, Muang district. The Rayong provincial police 191 emergency centre received an alert at approximately 07:00 concerning the fire in a commercial building. Firefighting teams from Rayong City Municipality and Noen Phra Subdistrict Municipality responded promptly, deploying water trucks and emergency crews to combat the blaze.

Upon their arrival, they witnessed flames consuming the structure, accompanied by thick black smoke billowing from the building. The restaurant housed cooking equipment and other combustible items, facilitating the rapid spread of the fire. Measures were taken to isolate the area and forestall the fire from reaching adjacent structures.

It required about two hours for the fire to be extinguished. The restaurant's owner informed authorities that the fire had ignited while the establishment was preparing to open and serve patrons as scheduled. Early assessment indicated that the fire might have originated from a refrigerator inside the restaurant, which had reportedly become excessively hot, resulting in sparks and flames emanating from the unit.

The flames swiftly spread to nearby possessions and sections of the building, inflicting considerable damage to the interior, equipment, and property of the restaurant. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
