Federal Civil Service releases dates for 2026 promotion exams

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has announced the dates and locations for the 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Examination. This information was released in accordance with Circular No. FC.6243/GOV/2026/VOL.III/22, signed by FCSC Chairman Prof Tunji Olaopa on September 8, 2026. Ibraheem Zakariyya, Head of Press and Public Relations, announced the details in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.

Candidates, both local and foreign, were informed of the examination schedule by Olaopa. The local leg of the test is set to take place from Monday, September 21, to Wednesday, September 23, 2026. The exam will be conducted across the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Designated centers for the examination include Lafia in Nasarawa State for the North-Central zone, Kaduna in Kaduna State for the North-West zone, Bauchi in Bauchi State for the North-East zone, Port Harcourt in Rivers State for the South-South, Ibadan in Oyo State for the South-West, Enugu in Enugu State for the South-East, and Abuja in the FCT for the FCT and Commission headquarters.

Olaopa emphasized that candidates should carefully review the examination date on their examination cards and arrive at their designated centers by 7:00 a.m. sharp. He urged candidates to sit for the examination only at the venue listed on their examination identity cards. The Commission urged all accredited candidates to verify their examination details in advance and make necessary arrangements to arrive at their respective centers early to avoid any inconvenience.
