Elbit Systems launches AI-based autonomous defence tech unit

Rosh Haayin, Israel -- Defense contractor Elbit Systems announced on Wednesday the establishment of a new unit called Fuse, dedicated to artificial intelligence-driven military technologies, including autonomous drones and other systems. This move consolidates the firm's various defense technologies under one umbrella. In May, Elbit acquired Israel's Blue White Robotics, further bolstering its capabilities in the field.

The company recently unveiled a system named One2Many, which utilizes an AI operating system to manage autonomous drone swarms. According to Elbit officials, Fuse has already secured contracts valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars, encompassing a THOR drone system for the U.S. military through Mistral Inc. and numerous deals in Europe.
