Dynamic Creatures launches character robots for theme parks

Dynamic Creatures, a robotics startup founded by former Boston Dynamics executives, has launched a line of mobile, interactive character robots for theme parks and other entertainment venues. The company, which operates from its headquarters in Boston, has partnered with Boston Dynamics and is collaborating with a major theme park and a retail giant to create guest-facing experiences.

Marc Theermann, who led Boston Dynamics' commercialization efforts, and Farbod Farshidian, a robotics AI researcher, co-founded Dynamic Creatures. The company's SnowJay platform integrates AI and robotics to enable characters to adapt their behavior in response to their environment and guests. This platform allows for the rapid deployment of custom characters, reducing development times compared to traditional methods.

Dynamic Creatures offers both platform-based characters, which can be leased, and fully original robots designed for specific brands and experiences. The company's characters are designed for direct interaction with guests, capable of understanding context and responding individually. This flexibility enables operators to introduce new experiences without significant upfront costs.

Dynamic Creatures has secured backing from various institutional investors and strategic angel backers, including Marc Raibert and Lukas Ziegler, and currently serves a range of venues, including theme parks, hotels, museums, and cruise ships.
