Cloudera brings Mistral AI’s frontier models into its secure hybrid data environments

Big-data giant Cloudera is teaming up with French AI model maker Mistral AI to offer enterprise-grade sovereign artificial intelligence workloads. This strategic partnership aims to bring secure, sovereign AI to wherever enterprises' data resides, be it in the cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments. By integrating Mistral's powerful large language models with its hybrid data and AI platform, Cloudera enables organizations to deploy AI in any environment without sending sensitive information to external locations or using external APIs.

Cloudera's Chief Business Officer, Abhas Ricky, believes this partnership addresses the challenge of safeguarding data in highly regulated industries while still allowing organizations to leverage AI. Mistral's frontier models, which can perform tasks ranging from reasoning and chat to coding and document understanding, will be brought into Cloudera's hybrid data platform.

This allows enterprises to run AI on their most sensitive information without compromising security, compliance, or data privacy. The collaboration also provides improved economics, as companies can run inference workloads within their own environments, gaining full control over the infrastructure and potentially lowering costs.

Mistral Forge, Mistral's fine-tuning platform, enables enterprises to train the frontier models on their own data, creating specialized intelligence without exposing trade secrets.
