Cavs news: James Harden drops simple response to contract announcement

The Cleveland Cavaliers officially announced on Tuesday that they have re-signed James Harden to a three-year, $97 million contract extension. This contract renewal comes to an end of a complex situation in free agency. Harden will return for his first full season with the Cavaliers after being acquired in a mid-season trade with the Los Angeles Clippers in February, for Darius Garland and a second-round draft pick.

The 37-year-old Harden, entering his 18th NBA season, expressed his happiness with a celebratory emoji on social media. During the previous season with the Cavs, Harden averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game in 33.8 minutes. Despite concerns about his compatibility with future teammate Donovan Mitchell, both high-usage players have been well-received by fans.
