Brookdale Senior Living reports August occupancy gains

Brentwood, Tennessee - Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE:BKD) revealed August occupancy numbers in a press release, showing a 50 basis point increase in consolidated weighted average occupancy compared to the previous month. Same community weighted average occupancy also rose 40 basis points. The month-end consolidated occupancy climbed 40 basis points sequentially, while same community occupancy grew 30 basis points.

Brookdale credited these gains to recent operational improvements. Net move-in activity for both overall and specific communities saw an increase during August. As of August 31, 2026, the company manages 532 senior living communities in 41 states, with a capacity to accommodate approximately 45,000 residents. Brookdale offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, and continuing care retirement options.
