Bono East Minister impressed with progress on Techiman 24-hour economy market project

Bono East Regional Minister Francis Owusu Antwi has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Techiman 24-hour economy market project, which was just over three months ago handed over to contractors. During a visit to the construction site on Tuesday, September 8, the minister commended the contractors for their work pace and quality.

The minister emphasized the strategic importance of the project to the region's economic transformation, stating that it would improve businesses, spur socio-economic growth, create job opportunities, and attract investment. The Techiman Central Market, already a bustling hub of commerce attracting traders from neighboring countries, is set to undergo a modernization that will feature round-the-clock banking services, storage units, clinics, pharmacies, and police and fire service posts.

The contractor assured the public of their commitment to delivering quality work within the agreed timeframe, projecting the completion of the project within six months. The project is a part of the government's broader 24-hour economy agenda, which aims to establish modern, round-the-clock commercial hubs across all 261 districts in Ghana.
