Attack on Titan is Coming to 4DX Theaters, But There's a Catch

Attack on Titan is set to make its way to 4DX and ScreenX cinemas in Japan this fall. To mark the occasion, September 9 has been declared Attack on Titan Day in the country, prompting two movies to hit theaters. These screenings will feature the first half of the series' first season and its explosive finale. However, the catch is that these showings are exclusive to Japanese cinemas.

Attack on Titan Part 1: Guren no Yumiya will be presented using ScreenX, 4DX, and ULTRA 4DX formats, which offer unique immersive effects such as chair movements, wind gusts, water splashes, and more. Fans can expect to feel the rush of rappelling off towers and roofs, fleeing from titans, and dodging debris. These screenings are scheduled for October 23, 2026.

In addition to these screenings, Kodansha is organizing 99 special events inspired by the Nine Titans, including making the first 99 chapters of the manga available for free on their Magapoke app for 99 hours ending on September 13. An official Attack on Titan YouTube channel will also host exclusive content, including limited-time anime streaming and special videos.

Attack on Titan fans have plenty to look forward to, including the release of Attack on Titan 3 this December.
