Apple Lakeside store reopens on Saturday with new design using sustainable materials

The Apple Lakeside store, situated in a large out-of-town shopping center in Essex, England, is scheduled to reopen on Saturday following a comprehensive redesign. The company has highlighted upgrades that include sustainable materials and accessibility improvements.

Established more than two decades ago in October 2007, the store underwent a significant transformation. Among the enhancements, a dedicated Apple Pickup area for customers who order online and choose to collect their devices in-store is one of the highlights. Accessibility features encompass varied table and seating heights, assisted listening systems, improved visual and acoustic clarity, and increased space for wheelchair users to move around the store.

Apple announced that the revamped store will open its doors at 9am on Saturday. The company expressed excitement about launching the fully redesigned and upgraded Apple Lakeside, providing customers from across Essex and South East England with new ways to discover and shop the latest Apple products. The store features an experience room for customers to explore products, a designated Genius Bar to receive personalized support, a dedicated Apple Pickup area for convenient collection of online orders, and complimentary educational Today at Apple sessions that aim to inspire customers to pursue their passions.

England boasts a total of 39 Apple stores, with recent or ongoing redesigns and relocations for six of them. The Lakeside and Regent Street in London have been upgraded, while Birmingham and Southampton are currently in the process of renovations.
