Yemen conflict widens: Houthis claim strikes on Saudi airport and Aramco sites

Saudi Arabia's energy facilities in the southern region were struck by attacks on Tuesday morning, resulting in fires that disrupted operations and caused injuries, the Ministry of Energy reported. Relevant authorities have initiated responses and are undertaking necessary steps. Specialized teams are working to control the fires, secure the sites, and evaluate the damage. Several citizens and residents were injured, with varying degrees of severity, and are receiving medical attention as follow-up operations proceed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs vehemently denounced the Houthi attacks on civilian and economic installations in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran, which resulted in 73 civilian casualties, including women and children. Saudi Arabia firmly rejected the Houthis' hostile actions and criminal behavior, which jeopardize security and stability in Yemen, its people, and the broader region.

The Kingdom emphasized its right to take all necessary actions to safeguard its sovereignty, national assets, and the safety of its citizens and residents, reinforcing that it would not tolerate attacks against its territory or resources. The ministry cautioned of the repercussions of ongoing Houthi attacks on civilians and civilian facilities.
