White House pulls ‘Build the Wall’ game after warning from Tetris

U.S. President Donald Trump's recent social media map posts have caused concern in the North Atlantic region. On a long holiday weekend, Trump shared a map claiming American territory extended throughout North America, including Greenland and Iceland. The map, posted on Truth Social, was colored in patriotic red, white, and blue.

However, Trump did not provide any explanation for the map. The assertion of U.S. control over Canada and Greenland has sparked controversy. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen described the map as "disturbing" and "inappropriate," suggesting that Trump still harbors a maximalist vision. Iceland's Foreign and Defense Secretary Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir summoned U.S. Ambassador Billy Long for a meeting.

The Arctic nations have been wary since Trump's increased rhetoric about U.S. control over Greenland earlier this year. In Iceland, where the U.S. mistakenly named the country four times while discussing his plans for Greenland, the gaffe prompted a premature referendum on the country's potential EU membership. Though the referendum was rejected, the incident heightened tensions in the North Atlantic region.
