We can’t take Presidency with your gentleman nature -Isaac Fayose to Peter Obi

Former Ekiti State Governor Isaac Fayose has expressed disappointment in Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), over the handling of the Benue State incident. In a video on his Facebook page, Fayose criticized Obi's gentlemanly nature, stating that it may cost him the presidency. The incident involved suspected thugs attacking Obi's convoy, and Fayose believed Obi had failed to accomplish his humanitarian visit to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Benue before leaving for Plateau State.

Fayose argued that to win the 2027 presidential elections, a more aggressive and confrontational approach was necessary. He stated, "I am highly disappointed in Mr Peter Obi today. Why will he leave Benue State for Plateau State without accomplishing his mission? My leader, you are a Nigerian; you have the right to travel anywhere."

Fayose warned, "How are we going to take the government from Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)? If they bring thugs, we bring our own thugs. Thugs for thugs, fire for fire, trouble for trouble. If we are playing this gentleman’s game, we’re going to lose our election." He lamented that other state governors would want to follow Obi's example, as they knew he was gentle.
