UN human rights experts express concern over extrajudicial killing of Baloch resident

United Nations human rights experts have raised serious concerns over the enforced disappearance and extrajudicial killing of Imran Ali, a resident of Balochistan. Ali was abducted by 20 agents from the Counter-Terrorism Department in August 2025 and held in custody for over a year without any official information being provided to his family.

During his detention, Ali reportedly suffered torture. The experts have called for a prompt and impartial investigation into Ali's detention and death, emphasizing the importance of independent forensic examinations, proper identification of his body, and its dignified return to his family. They warned that Ali's death is part of a broader pattern of unlawful detention, torture, enforced disappearance, and extrajudicial killing of Baloch people, which has been exacerbated by intensified military and security operations in the region.
