Ukraine's Zelenskiy arrives in Oslo for funeral of King Harald

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Norway on Tuesday, the day before the funeral of King Harald V, to discuss Ukraine's air defence issues and possible military support. This visit comes as the king's funeral approaches, and Zelensky also plans to meet with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.

Zelensky's main concern during the talks is to strengthen air defence capabilities and receive assistance in other areas crucial for Ukraine's survival during the harsh winter. He expressed his gratitude to Norway in a post on X, stating that they will be present at the farewell ceremony for King Harald V, who passed away at the age of 89 and will be buried in Oslo on Wednesday.

Ukraine is in dire need of air defence systems and other forms of military support as it prepares to face a challenging winter. The Oslo office, representing Prime Minister Store, confirmed that the discussions will focus on how Norwegian military and civilian aid can best meet Ukraine's current needs. However, no press briefing is planned due to security concerns.

Zelensky mentioned that his weak point is anti-ballistic capabilities, emphasizing that Ukraine will strive to become stronger. He stated that he will meet with Store in Norway and another country, Canada, to further discuss ways of enhancing Ukraine's defense.
