Ukraine contracting around 1,000 Patriot missiles from allies, defense chief says

Ukraine is planning to acquire approximately 1,000 Patriot missiles from various allies and financial assistance through the European Union, stated the country's defense minister. Addressing a gathering of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, Yevhenii Khmara emphasized that the majority of these missiles would arrive in the years to come, urging for more immediate aid.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that Germany would supply Patriot air defense missiles from its national reserves to Ukraine. In a video conference of defense ministers from nations supporting Ukraine, Pistorius affirmed that Germany would also increase the provision of air-to-air missiles and would continue to deliver drones and long-range ammunition.

Britain pledged £100 million ($135 million) to Ukraine for enhancing its air defense capabilities for the winter, supplying Patriot missiles, large-caliber artillery rounds, and drones to counter Russian attacks. The UK's defense minister, Wes Streeting, will join German counterpart Boris Pistorius to chair a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, focusing on Ukraine's battlefield needs.
