Two arrested after Sharjah Police recover $100,000 worth of stolen goods

Sharjah Police have apprehended two suspects in connection with the theft of $100,000 worth of stolen amber prayer beads. According to prosecutors, the valuable items were recovered within 24 hours of the initial report. A Chinese citizen alerted the police after attempting to sell the beads on social media. Police stated that two individuals showed interest in purchasing the items and planned to inspect them.

The suspects then lured the victim to a Sharjah location, deceived him into giving over the goods, and fled the scene. Specialized teams launched an immediate investigation, collecting evidence, analyzing forensic material, and examining data to solve the case. The investigation revealed the identity of the suspects and tracked their movements, leading to their arrest in a neighboring emirate.

Brigadier Dr Khalifa Belhaj, director of the Criminal Investigations Directorate at Sharjah Police, emphasized the force's readiness and efficiency in handling the situation. He also highlighted the use of modern technology and data analysis in the investigation. Sharjah Police urged the public to be cautious when buying or selling on social media and to verify identities and use secure locations for transactions, particularly with unknown individuals.
