Three LSU football transfers earn weekly honors from the SEC

LSU football made a strong statement in Week 1, with the Tigers securing a dominant 51-10 victory over their opponents. The team's success was recognized by the SEC, as three LSU transfers were honored with All-SEC awards. Quarterback Sam Leavitt was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while left tackle Jordan Seaton and defensive end Jordan Ross were recognized as Offensive and Defensive Linemen of the Week, respectively.

Leavitt delivered an impressive performance, despite an early interception, accumulating 343 yards of offense (including 230 passing yards and a career-best 113 rushing yards) and scoring three touchdowns. He showcased his versatility by rushing for two touchdowns and connecting with receiver Winnie Watkins on a 32-yard score.

Seaton played a pivotal role in LSU's offensive surge, enabling the Tigers to rack up over 600 yards of offense and achieve a school-record 38 first downs. He maintained a perfect sack-free performance and contributed to LSU's rushing attack averaging 5.3 yards per carry on 58 attempts. The LSU offense amassed over 300 combined yards of passing and rushing in the same game for the fifth time in program history.

Additionally, defensive end Ross made a significant impact, returning an interception by Christopher Vizzina for a 30-yard and a touchdown. He also finished the game with four tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss, and a quarterback hurry, demonstrating his all-around prowess.
