Three detained over theft of production materials from Ipoh factory

IPOH - Police have apprehended three individuals, comprising a woman, in connection with the theft of high-value production materials from a factory in the Pulai Jaya Industrial Area, according to District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah. The theft reportedly involved around 64 rolls, resulting in estimated losses of RM355,000.

The suspects, aged between 28 and 35, are company employees who are currently aiding the investigation. Najib added that police have identified another individual believed to be connected to the case, though the exact circumstances of the theft and the full extent of the losses are still under investigation. The police suspect company employees or operators were involved in the theft, which occurred in the computer component production section of the factory.

The investigation, conducted under Section 381 of the Penal Code, is ongoing to ascertain the precise losses and the involvement of each suspect. All three detainees will be brought before the court to request a remand order.
