Taxi rank executives arrested over alleged attempted murder

Two executives from the Botwe Old Town Taxi Rank, Eric Tettey and Abubakar Altine, have been arrested by police officials from the Madina Divisional Police Command. They are accused of attempting to murder Esther Danquah, a resident of Nanakrom and a susu collector operating at the taxi rank. According to the police, the suspects allegedly hired two armed men to carry out the murder plot.

The arrest occurred on September 3, 2026, after police received intelligence about the alleged plot. A team of officers, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Maxwell Oppong and including several detectives, laid an ambush and apprehended the suspects while they were reportedly preparing to execute the murder plan. Preliminary investigations suggest that one of the suspects had a financial dispute with the victim and intended to evade repayment.

Both suspects have been detained to assist with the ongoing investigation and will be arraigned after the investigation is concluded.
