Seventeen's DK embarks on Army duty after heartfelt message to fans

Seventeen's DK commenced his military service on Tuesday, becoming the sixth member of the popular K-pop group to join the Army. His agency, Pledis Entertainment, revealed that DK will undergo Army training and is set to be discharged in March 2028. The enlistment occurred quietly, without a separate event, in consideration for his fellow recruits and their families.

Just the day prior, DK held a heartfelt livestream for his fans on a fan platform. As he bid them farewell, DK repeatedly touched his now-short hair, expressing concern about how round his head appeared. "My head looks so round now," he said through tears. "I turned on the livestream to tell you I'd serve well and come back, but I don't know why I'm crying."

DK's emotional tearfulness was attributed to the realization that his decision to join the military was becoming increasingly real.
