Robots Protest in Poland Against the Uncontrolled Use of Artificial Intelligence

On September 7, 2026, around 30 robots gathered in Warsaw, Poland, to protest the uncontrolled development of artificial intelligence (AI). The civic initiative Democratism organized the demonstration, which took place outside the Ministry of Digital Affairs, to raise awareness about the potential effects of AI on the job market.

The robots, both humanoid and quadrupedal, marched in coordinated movements, waved flags, and displayed slogans such as "Defend jobs," "It's time for rules," and "Don't wait, regulate." One of the humanoid robots, named Agibot A3, delivered the central message, stating that the presence of these machines signifies that the technology is already a reality and that its development requires a discussion about the consequences it may generate.

The organizers emphasized the need for stricter regulation of AI technologies to prevent massive job displacement and ensure adequate protection and adaptation mechanisms for workers. Poland is in the process of implementing the European regulatory framework for AI, and the government acknowledged the challenges posed by the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and robotics.

The protest serves as a symbol of the ongoing debate on how to harness the benefits of AI while mitigating its potential social consequences, particularly in terms of job displacement and the need for workers to adapt to a changing labor market.
