Qatar, China explore deeper trade, investment ties

At the Arab Business Forum, a component of the AIM Congress 2026 in Dubai, Qatar Chamber showcased the nation's economic advantages and investment prospects. This event, organized in collaboration with the League of Arab States and the Union of Arab Chambers, emphasized enhancing Arab economic integration. During the panel discussion on 'Arab Investment and Facilitating Capital Flows and Islamic Finance', Qatar Chamber's acting general manager, Ali Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri, underscored Qatar's investment climate bolstered by advanced infrastructure, industrial and free zones, and government-driven streamlined procedures.

He also spotlighted Qatar's seamless transportation, logistics, modern seaport, and airport, along with a resilient financial system backed by governmental bodies. Al-Mansouri emphasized Qatar's strategic focus on drawing investment in manufacturing, renewable energy, logistics, technology, AI, food security, and tourism, underscoring the compelling opportunities for projects and partnerships.

The 15th AIM Congress, themed 'Reshaping Global Prosperity: Unlocking New Investment Pathways Towards a Sustainable and Inclusive Future', prioritized sustainable investment, with high-level panel discussions and interactive sessions. Board member Ali bin Abdullatif al-Misnad, chairman of the Qatar Association for Freight Forwarding and Logistics (QAFL), joined a roundtable on sustainable trade and digital transformation.

Al-Misnad discussed Qatar's and the region's supply chain vulnerabilities, including route changes, rising costs, delivery delays, and supply uncertainties. He stressed Qatar Chamber's proactive strategy to maintain open communication with the private sector, working closely with government bodies and Gulf and Arab chambers to identify issues and devise solutions.

Al-Misnad urged Arab chambers to join the FIATA-RAME 2026 Conference in Doha, scheduled for November 9-10, 2026, organized by Qatar Chamber.
