Pragyia rider jailed three months for biting Community Police Assistant

A 24-year-old tricycle rider has been sentenced to three months in prison by the Nkawie Circuit Court in the Ashanti region for biting a Community Police Assistant during an official patrol. Abdul Aziz, who pleaded guilty to the charge of negligently causing harm, was convicted on his own admission. The incident occurred on September 3, 2026, when police officers intercepted the convict, who was driving a Pragya tricycle without the required documents.

The convict disobeyed instructions to return to the police station and attacked the assistant, resulting in a struggle. During the altercation, the convict bit the assistant on the chest, leading to a nearby youth's assistance in arresting him.
