Police intensify manhunt for two armed robbery suspects in Delta

Delta State Police Command is searching for two masked individuals who allegedly broke into a 48-year-old man's home in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area. The suspects were armed with a locally made shotgun and attacked the victim, who confronted and wrestled one of the suspects, causing the gun to break. During the confrontation, the second suspect struck the victim on the forehead before both men fled the scene, abandoning the broken firearm.

The incident was reported to the Ekpan Division at around 6:14am on September 4, 2026, and the Divisional Police Officer promptly sent officers to the location, where they recovered the broken gun. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. The state's Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel E. Erale, praised the victim's bravery and assured him that the suspects would be apprehended.

Separately, police in Agbor arrested a 40-year-old man suspected of drug peddling, seizing various substances during a covert operation. The public is encouraged to provide any helpful information to assist the police in combating crime.
