Police foil planned kidnapping, recover guns, speedboats in A’Ibom

Four men have been arrested and an injured individual freed following a joint police operation in Orihuela Costa. The incident unfolded on Monday, September 7, after authorities received reports of a man being held against his will at a premises. The police operation involved the Orijuela Local Police and the Guardia Civil, with officers dispatched to the scene due to concerns over the alleged victim's safety and the presence of potential firearms.

Upon arrival, police secured the area and entered the premises, where they discovered the injured man, who was suffering from multiple injuries. The victim was subsequently taken for medical attention. Four men were apprehended on suspicion of unlawful detention, assault, making threats with a firearm, and investigation into a suspected public health offence related to illegal drug activities.

Police seized various weapons, including firearms, ammunition, and cartridges, as well as a substantial quantity of illegal drugs such as marijuana, hashish, cocaine, THC products, and resin. Additionally, precision scales and other items potentially associated with drug preparation or distribution were recovered. The operation involved multiple patrols from the Orijuela Local Police and Guardia Civil units, all collaborating throughout the initial deployment and subsequent investigation.

Police are currently preparing reports and continuing their inquiries to determine the full circumstances surrounding the alleged detention and the materials found at the scene.
