Peter Obi: You can’t block terrorists, it’s only Igbos – Ejimakor blasts Benue youths

Human rights attorney Aloy Ejimakor has harshly criticized a group of youths for obstructing the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, from entering Benue State. In a post on his X account on Tuesday, Ejimakor questioned why the protesters had not taken similar action to prevent access to terrorists responsible for attacks in the region.

He suggested that the protesters were targeting Obi due to his Igbo ethnicity. Ejimakor wrote, "These Benue protesters and thugs that barricaded and stopped Peter Obi from entering Benue, let me ask you: When will you barricade the terrorists that have been killing thousands in your state? Or is it only when it comes to the Igbo?

This is how you messed yourselves up in the Civil War." The lawyer also referenced the Nigerian Civil War, accusing those involved of repeating the mistakes of the past. According to DAILY POST, there was unrest in Benue State on Tuesday following Obi's arrival, after suspected thugs blocked a major road. Obi's media representative, Esther Umoh, confirmed the incident via a post on X, accompanied by a video showing the blocked path.
