People urged to come forward for eye donation

Srikakulam District Medical and Health Officer E.V.N. Naresh Kumar urged citizens to pledge their eyes for donation, emphasizing that corneal donation after death can restore vision for those who are blind. During the National Eye Donation Fortnight, Kumar led a rally in Srikakulam, encouraging all segments of society to promote eye donation in their localities.

Srikakulam District Blind Control Society's programme manager S. Pushpalatha, along with ophthalmic officers M.R.K. Das, D. Rajasekhar Reddy, and other officials, attended the event. In a separate initiative, Rotary Club president Netada Eswara Rao distributed spectacles to those in need at H.B. Colony, Srikakulam. Das conducted eye tests and recommended appropriate spectacles to the beneficiaries.
