No. 19 SMU turns the ball over four times, but still escapes with 27-24 win over Florida State

On Monday night, SMU faced off against Florida State in a game that lasted over 100 minutes due to a power outage at Doak Campbell Stadium. Despite the delay, the Mustangs emerged victorious with a 27-24 win. The game started after the stadium's power issue was resolved, and it soon became apparent that SMU was the superior team. However, the Mustangs also made numerous mistakes throughout the match.

The Mustangs turned the ball over four times, missed a field goal, and committed a penalty that led to a game-tying touchdown for FSU in the third quarter. SMU's fourth turnover occurred with just 6:33 left on the clock, tying the score at 24-24. Safety Ashlynd Barker intercepted QB Kevin Jennings' pass, providing Florida State an opportunity to take the lead.

Unfortunately for the Seminoles, Ashton Daniels was sacked on third down, resulting in a seven-yard loss. This down would become FSU's downfall throughout the night. With less than three minutes remaining, Florida State punted the ball back to SMU. The Mustangs capitalized on this turnover, driving down the field for an easy 27-yard field goal from Nick Reed with only 21 seconds left on the clock, securing their win.
