Nick Bosa, George Kittle limited participants in practice

The San Francisco 49ers released their first practice report of 2026, revealing that nine players were limited during Tuesday's session. Among the restricted participants were defensive end Nick Bosa and tight end George Kittle. Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris had previously stated that Bosa would play, but his level of involvement remains uncertain.

Bosa suffered an ACL tear in his right knee during a September 21 game against the Cardinals, underwent surgery on September 26, and then experienced follow-up soreness and tendinitis. He returned to practice on September 2 before the team restricted his activity. Kittle's status is less clear; offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak only stated that Kittle is in "good shape" to play.

The wide receiver suffered a right Achilles tear in a January 11 playoff game against the Eagles and underwent surgery three days later. Like Bosa, Kittle is likely to be used sparingly if he participates. Other players limited in Tuesday's practice included defensive tackle Alfred Collins, linebacker Luke Gifford, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, defensive tackle Gracen Halton, defensive end Romello Height, and fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Defensive tackle James Thompson did not practice, while cornerback Upton Stout participated fully.
