‘Naraaz Fufa’ Won’t Be Happy: Modi’s Dig As He Hails Dedicated Freight Corridor In Vadodara - VIDEO

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing criticism of the previous UPA government at an event in Vadodara on Tuesday, alleging that bureaucratic red tape had delayed the implementation of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) for years. The ambitious railway project, which spans 2,800 kilometers, was finally completed under Modi's government after it took office in 2014.

Modi pointed out that the files concerning the project were shuffled from one department to another, and the progress was sluggish until the current administration took control. He described the completion of the DFC as a significant milestone in India's infrastructure and connectivity efforts. The Prime Minister also highlighted the substantial increase in rail coaches manufactured since 2014, boasting that the government had produced around 50,000 modern coaches, a stark contrast to the previous administration's inability to construct even 50,000 toilets in a decade.

Modi emphasized the positive impact of the DFC on freight movement, explaining that passenger and goods trains previously shared the same tracks, causing delays for both types of services. The DFC, he claimed, had altered this dynamic and was instrumental in driving India's economic transformation. He also mentioned a recent double-stack container train journey from JNPT in Mumbai to Vadodara, stating that such a trip carried cargo equivalent to more than 250 trucks.

In response to potential criticisms, Modi playfully addressed a hypothetical "naraaz fufa," a term referring to someone who might question the effect on truck operators.
